Make sure when signing up for Cash Discount Programs you are getting the best deal possible. You should not be paying a monthly fee. What to watch out for is the Disclaimer many providers add.
Disclaimer example:
You’re assessed a $25/month if volume is under $5000. $50/month if volume is $5000 to $9999.99 and $100/month if your volume is $10000+ program fee. Your monthly processing fees will be offset by the customers service fee. You will display the sticker provided to me by Card Processor. The Sticker informs my customers of the cash discount incentive and service fee cost. Your processing fees, annual fees, PCI fees will are no longer charged. You may receive chargeback fees. You will receive a call to go over details. You may need my machine upgraded to one which is appropriate for this program.
This is a charge of companies being greedy. At Card Payment Solutions USA we know we make enough to cover all fees in the program so we do not charge a fee due to volume.
Zero Credit Card Processing Fees
Offering our cash discount program to customers, businesses are able to cut 100% of their processing fees. In this situation, merchants must display a customer-pricing notice. This will inform each customer about the customer service fee that is charged on all transactions. An easy example. A merchant charges a 3.99% service fee. On each item the notice will reflect that a product or service that lists at $100 will actually be $103.99. That is unless the customer is paying with cash. In this case, the customer paying with cash will receive a discount. The service fee charge goes away and they only pay the original $100. Convenience or surcharge fees are not the same as a cash discount program. You may be asking yourself, “Would it not be easier to settle with increasing the price by 4% and call it a day?” That’s a fair question, and, the result may or may not be the same in the end. Yet, the transparency with the cash discount program will be a detail that is not lost on your customers. The Cash Discount Program is an automated program. Where surcharge fees are manually calculated. This requires pricing increases across the board. That results in customers always paying “full” price. Customers generally favor the option of saving by paying with cash. In short, show me someone who doesn’t like to save money on purchases and I’ll show you a liar. Give the people what they want and your business will benefit in return.
A Marketing ToolThe cash discount program is a great marketing tool. It will attract new customers. Customers love the word “sale.” Most stores will display a “sale” sign year round to lure customers into their store. Getting people in the store, sale or not is the ultimate goal. They come in for the sale items and walk out with much more. Although a 3.99% discount across the board does help merchants. The cash discount program is a powerful tool when implemented. Being able to cut up to 100% of processing fees is something that is alluring to most merchants. This is also something that merchant level salespeople (MLSs) enjoy as well. The higher than average margins that come with the program mean they make more as well.

Music fans are not going to want to miss it! This Thursday at The Belcourt a very special presentation at 7pm.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Sonic Youth’s album “Daydream Nation,” filmmaker Lance Bangs and SY drummer Steve Shelley will present a program of “Daydream Nation”-related films on Thu, Jan 10.
Two are rarely-screened archival pieces from 1989, in brand new restorations. Lance Bangs will also present excerpts from his new concert film of the band performing the album in its entirety in Glasgow in 2007. A few unseen gems from the band’s archives will round out the bill. Among the excerpts and selections:
PUT BLOOD IN THE MUSIC, Dir. Charles Atlas, 1989 (SY Edit): Charles Atlas’s first major recognition came for his work with Merce Cunningham as the company’s filmmaker-in-residence from 1978-1983. From this pioneering work establishing the field of “Dance for Camera,” he went on to make the faux cinéma vérité HAIL THE NEW PURITAN for BBC4 about the Scottish dancer Michael Clark, featuring music by Glenn Branca, Bruce Gilbert (of Wire), Jeffrey Hinton, and the Fall. Then Atlas was approached by the Irish writer David Donohue, asking him to do a movie about music in New York.
DAYDREAM NATION, Dir. Lance Bangs, 2018: Lance Bangs’ new Sonic Youth concert film presents the band performing the titular double album in Glasgow on Aug 21-22, 2007. Bangs blends HD footage shot in Glasgow with fragments of personal Super 8mm and 16mm from his archives of Sonic Youth over the decades.
About the “Daydream Nation” album:
Sonic Youth released their sixth album “Daydream Nation” on Oct 8,1988, an immediate critical success. Robert Palmer wrote in Rolling Stone that it “presents the definitive American guitar band of the Eighties at the height of its powers and prescience.” Time has not dimmed the album’s lustre. It was selected to the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry in 2005, and in 2013, Consequence of Sound declared “the record simply rules.”

Yin Yoga
A style of yoga that focuses on opening the connective tissues in the body, cartilage, ligaments, and joints. Yin Yoga is an unheated class that involves holding deep stretches for longer periods of time – 30 seconds to several minutes – relaxing the body in the poses, and finding stillness. This opening into the deep, dense tissues of the body provides expanded range of movement, healing and repair, lubrication of the joints, and opportunities for meditation. The energetic meridians of the body are believed to run in line with the body’s connective tissues, allowing you to clear and revitalize energetic pathways from your toes to your fingertips.
Restorative Yoga
Similar to Yin, this unheated restorative class with long holds compliments our Power Flow practice by relieving soreness and accumulated stress, improving posture and awareness of breath, and lengthening specific muscles in order to reestablish their ideal tone. This class offers a nourishing, opening practice that incorporates props such as bolsters, tennis balls, and blocks to facilitate healing, the release of tight muscles, trigger points, and surrounding connective tissues.
Awaken & Unwind
This gentle unheated vinyasa is designed to center, nourish and restore after a long week. A sweet slow flow is followed by a luxurious, extended savasana with healing essential oils. Leave feeling clear and refreshed for the week ahead.
Yoga in Life
This once-monthly 75 minute class is unheated and will incorporate meditations, reflective writing and personal inquiry to take the yoga practice from the mat to day to day life. We will gain insight into intentions and places we are stuck. Using this insight we open and heal ourselves and therefore all our relationships. All levels welcome. Please bring a journal and a writing utensil. There will be no yoga poses in this class, except for a comfortable seated position.

Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection are coming to the Frist in 2019 and we’re beyond excited.
With iconic works by Frida Kahlo, her husband Diego Rivera, and their contemporaries, including David Alfaro Siquieros, Rufino Tamayo, and Ángel Zárraga, this exhibition allows visitors to explore the Gelman Collection, one of the most significant private holdings of twentieth-century Mexican art. The husband-and-wife collectors Jacques and Natasha Gelman were glamorous and wealthy Eastern European refugees who married in 1941, took part in Mexico City’s vibrant art scene, and purchased art mostly from their artist friends. In this exhibition of more than 100 works are self-portraits by Kahlo, Rivera’s Calla Lily Vendor, and numerous portraits of the Gelmans, plus intimate photographs that give insight into how Kahlo and Rivera lived and dressed. Organized by The Vergel Foundation and MondoMostre
The event will run from May 24–September 2, 2019. Make sure to follow The Frist on both Facebook and Instagram for updates!

As a small business owner it’s tough to keep up with all the latest trends in your industry. We understand. It’s hard to keep up with trends in the Credit Card Processing & Merchant Service Industry. The great thing is that in 2019 the User Experience will be better. Also, some of the trends will be godsend to the bottom line of many local business owners. Here are our Five Trends to prepare for in 2019.
One: Mobile Pay will surpass traditional Plastic Credit Cards
The payment processing trend that leads most for next year, in-store mobile payments. Becoming the primary payment method in the U.S. By 2020. In-store mobile payments overtaking credit cards, at $503 billion. The speed and convenience is tough to ignore. In-store mobile payments is particularly attractive to a younger generation of consumers.
Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay are the top mobile wallets. Used at small and medium businesses.. Apple Pay and Google Wallet continue battling it out for the top spot. Android Pay and Samsung Pay still have their share of supporters.
Two: Cash Discount helping Small Businesses
It’s not a secret if you follow us buy Cash Discount helps small businesses compete. Offering a a great marketing tool while saving Cash for the businesses bottom line. Many customers appreciating the transparency as well as a payment option to save. Sure in our “One” we talked about speed and convenience as a top priority for customers. Another priority is saving money. People will gladly pay to use their card with Cash Discount to save time. They also will gladly bring cash if it’s an item they would like to save. Don’t make a decision for your customer. Give them an opportunity to save with the Cash Discount program. Many of our clients have saved tens of thousands freeing up cash to improve the business. Click here for more.
The quicker everyone realizes you are a website with a brick and mortar the quicker the adaptation to the future of business. Having a great website is big. Having a website that takes payments with ease of use is paramount. It’s unnecessary to offer every single payment method. You will want to have an understanding of which methods your consumers prefer. Select a merchant service provider who can support your specific needs. The exact combination will depend on your customer base. Taking online payments is essential. Doesn’t matter if your a store or restaurant. Don’t block yourself from having a powerful advantage in today’s market.
Four: mPOS Become More Affordable & More Beneficial To Small Business Owners
According to TYSY, roughly 27.7 million mPOS devices will be in circulation in the U.S. within the next three years. Almost 10 times the amount in 2014. An mPOS device can be cost-effective for small and medium business owners. Many have limited staff and resources for electronic registers and software support. Costs for Credit Cards are higher (those not taking advantage of Cash Discount) for non-mPOS users. The average credit card processing cost for a retail business is around 2 percent for cards that are swiped in-person. Compared with 2.3 percent to 3.1 percent for card-not-present transactions.
Five: An Advocate in your Local Processor and Customer Support System
It’s strange how tech dominates most of our five but the old tried and true still reigns supreme. Customer Service from your representative remains extremely important. Fly by night or telemarketing sales is going away due to the fact bad contracts and major fees being added to small businesses. Having a rep that will take care of you from initial meeting till the end of time is what everyone is searching. An advocate. Someone who will champion your business and your needs not their sales bottom line.
This is an amazing opportunity heading in to 2019 for your business. That’s why we warn you to be wary of MLSs and ISOs (International Standards Organization) who aren’t trying to help you adapt to the coming world. Some are exploiting programs meant to help small businesses. They are following less than ethical practices. When choosing a partner we hope you choose Card Payment Solutions USA and Nashville Buy Local. Find out more today. Message us on Facebook or contact us via email at MEPannell@gmail.com.
