Four Nashville-Area Students Named Coca-Cola Scholars Semifinalists
2027 Coca-Cola Scholars Program semifinalists have been announced and four Nashville-area students made the cut. Two others in Middle Tennessee are also on the list, along with ten more statewide.
More than 113,000 applied but only 1,227 advanced (just 1.08%) to semifinalist based on their leadership and service in their schools and communities.
The four Nashville-area semifinalists are:
- Ehlinata Reda, Hume-Fogg Academic High School
- Darsh Shrivastava, Ravenwood High School
- Sydney Branson, Summit High School
- Langston Thaxton, Blackman High School
Two other Middle Tennessee semifinalists:
- Christian Galindo, Coffee County Central High School
- Conner Kelly, Giles County High School
Others in Tennessee: Philip Alexander, Memphis; Parker Calton, Selmer; Kyleigh Cromwell, Savannah; Isaac George, Chattanooga; Abdullah Khawaja, Memphis; Isaiah Krusch, Dyersburg; Jaia Mills, Germantown; Foster Rodgers, Union City; Addison Simeon, Jackson; Stephanie Zhong, Chattanooga.
Semifinalists now submit expanded applications, transcripts and recommendation letters, and 250 finalists will interview over Zoom in late January. From those, 150 will be named Coke Scholars, earning $20,000 scholarships and joining an alumni network the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation counts in the thousands, including U.S. Senators, members of Congress, university presidents and United Nations ambassadors.
Congratulations, and good luck to Ehlinata, Darsh, Sydney and Langston in January!
