We went searching for donuts in East Nashville and we knew we wanted to try the Vegan Donuts we heard about from Five Daughters. We arrived and were greeted by a wonderful employee who showed us our three options in their vegan variety. Our options were the Purist a glazed variety which we had before. It’s a great donut for someone who doesn’t want all the icing. We really wanted this one but needed to try the other types. So our options came down to Strawberry Glaze or Lemon Blueberry. Although we tend to go for Lemon Blueberry the shops decor made our subconscience choose the Strawberry Glaze.
First off, this donut is sweet. Not in a bad way. The frosting on it will satisfy any sweet tooth and it’s heavy which satisfy any hunger. Would we suggest it as the first option when going for Vegan Donuts at Five Daughters? No, we wouldn’t. The Purist is still the leader but this is a wonderful option if you want a really sweet strawberry taste.
