The free after-school and summer art education programs reach over 120 North Nashville students every year. These are kids getting real art instruction, not as a luxury, not as an elective that gets cut when budgets tighten, but as a consistent presence in their lives because someone decided it mattered enough to fund it.
The financial aid program is as simple as it gets. Anyone who wants to take a class and cannot afford it fills out an application. To date, over 100 scholarships have been awarded to neighbors who asked. No elaborate qualification process. Just an acknowledgment that the barrier should not be money.
The Emerging Artist Fellowship supports local artists with something they almost never get: institutional support at the beginning of their careers, when it would actually change the trajectory of things.
