It might finally be starting to feel like fall! We’re definitely gonna hold our breath. Rain chances increase starting around midday and scattered showers and storms could pop up throughout the afternoon and evening. But things are trending down, so it might not be that big of a deal. It’ll probably be more dry on Saturday and Sunday. Time to get out and enjoy things. [NashSevereWx]

We’ll say it again: It’s just embarrassing that the Symphony in NASHVILLE — Music City — has had to furlough everyone and cancel the entire season. The Grammy Award-winning organization declared a state of “financial emergency,” drawing a range of reactions, from outrage that Music City’s artistic infrastructure hasn’t rescued the Symphony to an outpouring of support from organizations ready to lead a helping hand. Symphony musicians in Nashville have been put out of a job this week with almost no notice — and they’re reeling. “It’s infuriating and it’s actually humiliating,” said Joel Reist, Nashville Orchestra Committee chairman. In Pittsburgh, a horrific hate crime sparked an effort to ‘eradicate hate.’ Unfortunately, what Phil hints at but doesn’t get into is that the center of all this is antisemitism. Literally antisemitism. It’s out-of-control on social media, raging on both the right and left, and lumping it in with other forms of hate just ignores the root of the problem. [Phil Williams]

State Sen. Charlane Oliver is suing Lt. Gov. Randy McNally and two other state officials, arguing punishments imposed after she protested the state’s newly redrawn congressional map violated her constitutional rights. Lt. Gov. McNally, the Senate Speaker, called Oliver’s behavior “performative, childish, and beneath the dignity of this institution,” and handed down a series of consequences for Oliver, including reassigning her from the Senate Government Operations Committee, suspending her per diem payments, and eliminating reimbursements for out-of-state travel. What are we doing, Nashville? Is anyone even awake anymore? Allowing outsiders to buy everything up and drive up costs for locals is killing what makes this city great. Not just because that’s occurring but because state and local government can’t be bothered to live in reality. This growth could be easily managed if they weren’t living in the backwater ideological clouds. [FOX17]

Surely Marsha Marsha Marsha wouldn’t do something unethical and misleading when it comes to campaign finance. If you got an email with the subject “CORRECTION REQUIRED” or “Notice of Rescindment,” you may have thought you had some billing issue or that someone was phishing for your personal information. But it may have actually come from Marsha Blackburn. [Nashville Banner]

We still haven’t gotten an answer about why it’s a good idea to be digging tunnels under Nashville and that should alarm you. Last year, The Boring Co. expressed interest in developing several downtown parking lots that are at the center of the state’s newly issued request for qualifications. Okay, so we’re not big fans of promoting things that aren’t free but this is fun. The Nashville Predators face the Dallas Stars on Saturday at 7:00 P.M. But the best part? (Come on, we need this because they aren’t doing enough to engage with their Heated Rivalry fandom) It’s Hispanic Music Heritage Night. There’ll be a custom jersey designed by a local artist, auctioned to benefit the Nashville Predators Foundation. [Ticketmaster]
