Each year, Cat Video Fest curates a compilation reel of the latest, best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and, of course, classic internet powerhouses.
Screening events raise money for cats in need, often through partnerships with local cat charities, animal welfare organizations, and shelters to identify how best to serve cats in the area.

Nashville’s Ttotals have been rocking Nashville and beyond for near a decade now. The outer blues brothers create dynamic psychedelia that seeps through minimal grooves and expands as revelatory croons. Last year they released their latest ‘Skyview Drive’ and The Vinyl District raves, “Don’t think blooze or Jon Spencer-esque Bah-Luuze, think of neo-psych with a dark thrust and a non-toxic Morrison-esque vibe. Their best one yet.” The trio is headed out on tour and down to SXSW and want to kick off their road trip with an in-store set at Grimey’s. Join us for this free, all ages live performance and help send Ttotals out on the road with a big Nashville bang! We’ll also have free beer for all you 21+ rockers.
This Saturday, March 2nd at 5pm, at Grimey’s on 1060 East Trinity Lane. Make sure to follow Grimey’s on Facebook and Instagram for future in-stores and releases.
Dorothea Lange (1895–1965) is recognized as one of the most important photographers of the twentieth century, and her insightful and compassionate work has exerted a profound influence on the development of modern documentary photography. With hardship and human suffering as a consistent theme throughout her career, Lange created arresting portraits with the aim of sparking reform. This is the first exhibition to examine her work through the lens of social and political activism, presenting iconic photographs from the Great Depression, the grim conditions of incarcerated Japanese Americans during World War II, and inequity in our judicial system in the 1950s. The exhibition encompasses 300 objects, including 130 vintage and modern photographs, proof sheets, letters, a video, and other personal memorabilia.

In this top-to-bottom reimagining of the costume epic, the Duchess of Marlborough (Rachel Weisz), and her servant Abigail Hill (Emma Stone) engage in a sexually charged fight to the death for the body and soul of Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) at the height of the War of the Spanish Succession. One thing buying local has taught us is that getting people out of fast food is a difficult task. Instead of fighting that Hugh Baby’s has taken the local care and love for the community and brought it to the fast food dining model. Not only that they have wonderful menu items and some can be made Vegan. That’s why we’d love for you to try one of these:

In music as in love, one + one can add up to not two but a new and greater one. On Heart Songs two of the world’s greatest guitarists, Tommy Emmanuel and John Knowles, make this clear. Both are masters of their instrument, honored by the iconic Chet Atkins with the rare designation of CGP (Certified Guitar Player). Their early journeys were dissimilar. Emmanuel began his in Australia, grew up on the road with his family’s band, settled as a teenager in Sydney and left his rock band to launch a spectacular solo career.
Knowles followed a more academic path, eventually earning a PH.D. in physics from Texas Christian University but then electing to pursue his true love of music. Inevitably they would cross paths, become friends and perform on stages and clinics around the world. Their styles are distinctive but for that very reason they mesh seamlessly, with Knowles generally creating sophisticated but compelling foundations over which Emmanuel’s guitar soars in astonishing yet always musical flights.
Tommy Emmanuel & John Knowles will honor Nashville with what’s sure to be a stunning live performance in celebration of their new collaboration! Heart Songs is released on January 11th and the free, all ages live performance is Saturday, February 23rd, at 1PM. Please note the earlier-than-usual in-store time and join Grimey’s!
One thing we did when we started Nashville Buy Local is give much love to the new kids doing their thing in Nashville. Well, that was a mistake because there are some strong landmarks that we need to shower with love. Rotier’s Restaurant is one of those. Again, we’d rather they tell their story so:
Rotier’s has been serving cold beer, burgers, and handmade milkshakes since 1945. John and Evelyn Rotier started the restaurant after WWII, the building was originally a carriage house for the Elliston Mansion. Rotier’s started as a beer joint with cheeseburgers and pinball machines, and later evolved into a full scale restaurant soon after gambling became illegal in Tennessee. The meat and three menu came along, or “meat and vegetables” if you are not from Tennessee, so patrons could choose from several different home cooked meals. John and Evelyn had three children: John, Margaret, and Charlie Rotier, who all worked in the restaurant.
We have been a Nashville landmark for many years and continue on with third generation family members to this day. The Cheeseburger on French Bread is Rotier’s claim to fame, winning many local and national awards from USA Today and Food Network Magazine.
We always need to make sure we are supporting our local diners. They are the backbone to the community. See what’s on the Rotier’s menu and see which is best for your lunch or dinner today:
